Invisalign
Invisalign is a very popular alternative to metal braces and is considered a cosmetic dentistry procedure by most. But how do you know if invisilign is right for you?
Well, it’s a great question and let's take a look at the steps involved to get you a beautiful smile.
Step 1: Initial Consultation
Your first consultation is free with us. It is our job to discuss the issues you have with your teeth and what kind of results you would like to see. Once we decide that your case is suitable for Invisalign, a treatment plan will be mapped out with the goals that we discussed in our first consultation.
Step 2: Impressions
At this step, the impressions of your teeth will be digitized in order for us to work with a computerized 3-D image of your teeth. Dr. Winegarden will then be able to plan the tooth movements throughout the entire treatment timeline. You will be able to see the before, during and after-completion images of the Invisalign process. In this way, you can see what your smile should look like when you are all done.
Step 3: Custom Aligners made
Once we have decided your exact treatment plan we will need to customize your aligners using the advanced technology available to us. The number of aligners will vary for each person, but typically a full set for treatment includes 20-30 aligners per arch.
Step 4: How to wear your aligners
You should wear your aligners at all times. You can take them out when you eat and drink, but make sure to immediately put them back on. The time it takes to straighten your teeth is something that we will be able to determine earlier. You will need to come into our office for regular check-ups to monitor your progress and to receive the next set of aligners. During this entire process you can see your teeth gradually moving back into place.
Choosing the Invisalign system is a smart decision on your part because the advanced technology provides you with customized treatment to give you a smile that suits you. And even with all that superior technology, we make it easy for you to get Invisalign.
